Local In Situ Monitoring
In order to provide evidence-based understanding for decision-making, ENHANCES will collect a portfolio of continuous environmental data from various local field sites in Suriname.
The following data are being collected by ENHANCES throughout the project:
- Physical Ocean Data – including ocean tides, wave heights and direction, and sub-ocean currents
- Meteorological Data – including wind velocity, rain, temperature, relative humidity, and air pressure
- Water Chemistry Data – including pH, conductivity (as a measure of salinity), and water temperature
- Acoustic sound monitoring of wildlife in different types of mangroves.
