ENHANCES is working with stakeholders in Suriname and Guyana to enhance understanding of coastal protection, biodiversity, and ecosystem services along the Guiana Shield by:

  • collecting and sharing new environmental, ecological, and spatial data and how these change over time
  • assessing the role of different species of mangroves in protecting the coast
  • developing an innovative engagement platform to understand and build consensus on coastal protection strategies.
